A few days after his birthday we still had some cake left over. Nick was gone and I was in the bathroom. When I came out I saw Atlas eating the cake like this.

A couple days ago I let Atlas come lay down by me in the big bed for a nap. After Atlas fell asleep I went to see what Nick was doing. I found him asleep in the crib. He could have come in and napped with us, or on Atlas's new twin size bed or on the couch, but for some reason he chose the crib.

It made me laugh to see a full grown man in a tiny crib and a little tiny kid in the next room over on a huge bed.

I call Atlas my Baby Angel when he is asleep, cause he looks so perfect and peaceful. I love to just lay next to him and listen to his little breath, even though he always starts sweating and smells like a potato chip. I feel so lucky to have these boys in my life.

My Parents Visit/ Atlas's Birthday

My parents came out to RI for about a week to spend time with us and to be here for Atlas's birthday. I love when my parents are around. We had a really fun week. Atlas we very excited and overwhelmed and had a lot of meltdowns. My dad chased him around everywhere we went. Nick was still busy with school so he wasn't able to be with us everyday.

On the first day they were here we drove to Mystic, Connecticut, which is a quaint little coastal town, and went to an aquarium. Atlas went absolutely nuts running around and looking at everything.

My camera died so I wasn't able to capture the rest of the day. We went to the Mystic Seaport where you can wander around an old seaport village. We went on board old boats, saw a functioning blacksmith and printing press and saw lots of other cool old maritime stuff. We also went to the famous Mystic Pizza for lunch.

The 18th was Atlas's 3rd Birthday. I made him a Mario cake.

He was super happy.

One thing Atlas definitely loves- presents.

I bought him this Sonic the Hedgehog hat, since he loves Sonic. When he puts it on he runs everywhere he goes and acts insane. He got all sweaty from running about with it on for so long.

The next day we went to Boston and our first stop was the giant Children's Museum there. Once again, Atlas was out of control and completely exhausting to chase after. Good thing Nick was there with us that day.

Boston is really beautiful and it was also a wonderfully sunny day.

We went to an old graveyard right in the middle of downtown where famous people like John Hancock, Paul Revere, Mother Goose, and Samuel Adams are buried. The graves were so old and worn. We spent quite a while reading the headstones and wandering around there.

Atlas wanted me to take a picture of his new shoes.

My parents in front of the first ever public school building in the United States.

We saw a lot of amazing historical building. This balcony is where the Declaration of Independence was first read to the common people of the United States.

We went to an Italian bakery and got some goods. Atlas used Nick's head as a "table" for eating his gelatto.

Atlas had fun doing a little photo shoot with some statues.

The Boston Commons is a giant park in downtown Boston. We bought some treats from some food carts there and let Atlas play at the park and on the grass. He loved it.

I loved having my parents here and miss them already. I am so grateful that they come out to visit us. I really need it. I think I would go crazy without it. It's just so good to have some family around for me and for Atlas.

Before my parents came

I haven't been able to post on the blog for quite a while now because my camera has been out of batteries and the charger is somehow lost in our tiny apartment, so I couldn't upload the photos that were on it. We looked everywhere, but finally gave up and bought a new charger. These pictures are from the beginning of the month. I am going to try and play catch up and post everything that has gone on since I last posted.

The weather has been very on and off. We have spent most of the good days outside, playing at parks.

Atlas loves to chase me while I run in front of him and take photos. He also finally decided to actually pedal his bike now instead of just pushing on the ground with his feet.

We were all looking at bit scruffy...

and didn't want to have to go out like this when my parents arrived...

So the I gave the boys haircuts, and I think I am finally getting the hang of it. They were some of the best haircuts I have given them. Now if only one of them could learn to cut my hair!

We Want Good Weather!

When the weather has been nice lately Nick and Atlas have been playing soccer together. This is at a cool park that overlooks downtown Providence.

We want the weather to stay good so we can go play outside, but it keeps fluxuating and won't warm up. I am really looking forward to spring and summer so we can experience the beaches and other outdoor places around, like the Boston harbor. Also, I need some exercise, and walking is the only thing I feel good enough to do. I decided that this spring we are going to take lots of walks around all the cool neighborhoods so I can snap pictures of all the beautiful houses here and so we have a good documentation of where we have lived.
