We stayed home for the holidays this year. I was really looking forward to not traveling- no screaming kids on airplanes, no catching the flu and cloistering ourselves in one of our parent's houses, no crazy schedules, no extra holiday travel expenses or shipping Christmas toys. But it actually ended up being a lot more quiet, and more boring then I had imagined. The boys had fun and don't have a whole lot to compare it to, but Nick and I did miss the holiday craziness a bit. Mostly the break just felt super long without all that stuff to do.

On Christmas Eve Nick hauled our mattress in on to the floor in the boys room, we plugged in Christmas lights and had ourselves a family sleepover.

It's didn't look much like Christmas but it was chilly!

On New Years we had Chinese take-out by candlelight.

The boys were really into it, especially "cheers"ing with fancy glasses.

Nick turned 31, but Atlas and I could only find 28 candles, so I don't know if it's legit.

Cosby got super sick for a few days and Atlas took it upon himself to take care of his brother, mostly by surrounding him in mountains of toys no matter where he was.

We spent the rest of the break doing what we all do best: Nick read some obscure foreign comics, Atlas played video games,

Cosby was messy and destroyed the Earth.  I probably did a combination of all those things.
